Things continue to come up Charlotte.

The Charlotte Hornets came off a seven game win streak and them immediately followed that up with a terrific addition at the NBA Trade deadline in adding Coby White for Collin Sexton from the Chicago Bulls. Vibes stayed up. Then it was back to work.

The Charlotte Hornets proceeded to go to Houston and pretty much run the show from start to finish against Kevin Durant and the Rockets, 109-99. With their win streak extending to eight games, that's their best win streak since 1999.

One thing is abundantly clear, and that's that the Charlotte Hornets made the right decision in not moving LaMelo Ball at the trade deadline. It didn't feel as if that was going to be happening, given the way the Hornets have been cooking lately, but it was a topic of conversation previously.

It's gotten to the point with the Hornets that LaMelo has become such a focal point. There's only been one game since the start of the new year that he hasn't scored double digits. And it's very noticeable when he's not on the floor.

According to Chris Haynes, the Minnesota Timberwolves were really making a push to try and trade for LaMelo, but it never materialized.

Even though many out there felt that it would be smart to try and get whatever value you could get for LaMelo Ball, there is something bigger at play here.

LaMelo seems completely committed to what the Charlotte Hornets are building right now. You can see it when you see Melo and Coach Charles Lee interacting together. They seem to have a really great relationship.

LaMelo has become a major focal point of this starting lineup that is now 14-1 that includes himself, Kon Knueppel, Brandon Miller, Miles Bridges, and Moussa Diabate.

One of the things that the NBA world is really appreciating about the Charlotte Hornets is that they do things the right way. Josh Green said as much in his postgame availability tonight.

He said it's not that something has necessarily changed with the Hornets, it's that the mentality is blossoming at the right time on what they starting in training camp.

The Hornets are the buzz of the NBA right now and Charlotte intends to keep it that way. They head to the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night.
