While the Hornets don't have star guard LaMelo Ball anymore on the roster, Charlotte does have multiple talented players who could serve this franchise well.

Charlotte landed sharpshooter Buddy Hield from the Atlanta Hawks, giving themselves more offense for the year. Hield has been one of the stronger three-point shooters in the NBA for years, and the Hornets' attack could be even better this season.

The current record is held by the Boston Celtics, who hit 1,457 threes during the 2024–25 season. Charlotte could try to come for this record given the talent on the roster.
While it remains to be seen how the Hornets season will play out, Charlotte does have a ton of strong shooters on the team. Hield is a career 39.5 percent shooter from beyond the three-point line, giving some thought to the record.
Having Kon Knueppel on the team also helps, and he set some records of his own for his shooting a year ago. Knueppel set the record for the most three-points from a rookie in a season, while also leading the league in threes.
The star hit 273 three-pointers last season, breaking down all records ahead of him. If he were to keep up this level of production entering his second season, the Hornets could easily come close to the NBA record for three-point shots made.
Charlotte had one of the best offenses in the NBA a year ago, and with Hield in the mix, this could get even better. While Ball is gone, the Hornets have others such as Coby White to help replace his prodiction.
White may not be an All-Star, but he is a scoring guard who can flourish in this Charlotte offense. Overall, the Hornets may be in line for a record-breaking season this year, and if they can accomplish this, it would be one of the more incredible feats in franchise history.
