The Charlotte Hornets acquired Coby White and Mike Conley from the Chicago Bulls and Tyus Jones from the Orlando Magic.
To make room for White, Conley and Jones, the Hornets had to waive Pat Connaughton.
Charlotte acquired Connaughton from the Milwaukee Bucks last season. Connaughton appeared in 22 games this season. He averaged 2.9 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game while shooting 48.9% from the field, 40.7% from beyond the arc and 61.5% from the free-throw line.
The Hornets are the hottest team in the NBA. They are on a seven-game winning streak. Conley may not remain in Charlotte, but White and Jones will.
White played college basketball at UNC. He's averaging 18.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game this season while shooting 43.8% from the field, 34.6% from beyond the arc and 80.5% from the free-throw line.
White is making $12.9 million this season in the final year of his contract.
Jones is making $7 million this season. He becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
A Duke product, Jones is averaging 3.0 points, 1.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game this season while shooting 34.2% from the field, 29.4% from beyond the arc and a perfect 100.0% from the free-throw line.
The Hornets are 23-28. They are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings. Seeds 7-10 make the NBA play-in tournament. Charlotte is one game back of Chicago for the 10th spot.
