Dennis Schroder made NBA history on Saturday during the Charlotte Hornets' 115-110 win against the Miami Heat.

The Charlotte Hornets beat the Miami Heat on Saturday to improve to 2-1, and newcomer Dennis Schroder made NBA history.

Schroder put up 25 points against the Heat. He's now the only player in NBA history to score 25 points for nine different teams.

The Hornets acquired Schroder from the Cleveland Cavaliers this offseason. Schroder has a close relationship with Charles Lee, as the two were in Atlanta together.

Through three games, Schroder is averaging 16.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. He's shooting 44.4% from the field, 25.0% from beyond the arc and a perfect 100.0% from the free-throw line.

Schroder has played for 12 NBA teams. He began his career with the Hawks in 2013. Since then, the 33-year-old has suited up for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Lakers (twice), Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets, Toronto Raptors, Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors, Detroit Pistons, Sacramento Kings, Cavaliers and Hornets.

Schroder entered this season with career averages of 13.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game in the regular season and 10.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game in the playoffs.

It will be interesting to see if Schroder can help the Hornets make the playoffs this season. Charlotte hasn't made the playoffs since 2016. It's the longest playoff drought in the NBA.

After the Hornets beat the Nets on opening night, Brandon Miller said he and his teammates would do whatever it takes to make the playoffs this season. Miller and Kon Knueppel are the new faces of the franchise in Charlotte in the post-LaMelo Ball-Miles Bridges era.

The Hornets signed Miller to a five-year, $209 million rookie-scale extension. Miller entered this season with career averages of 19.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. He was the second overall pick in the 2023 draft.

Thus far this season, Miller is putting up 19.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. He's really struggling with his shot, as the 23-year-old is shooting only 29.7% from the field and 20.0% from 3.

For the Hornets to make the playoffs this season, Miller has to shoot the ball better. It will be intriguing to see how long it takes Miller to find his jumper.

Next up for Charlotte is a matchup against the Washington Wizards, who are 2-1 as well. The Wizards have All-Stars Trae Young and Anthony Davis, so it figures to be a tough game for the Hornets.

The Hornets-Wizards game tips off at 7:00PM E.T. at the Spectrum Center.
