The Charlotte Hornets take on the Golden State Warriors on New Year's Eve and they will be shorthanded.

The Hornets announced that Miles Bridges won't play because of the ankle injury he suffered against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Bridges has appeared in 32 games for the Hornets this season. He's averaging 19.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game while shooting 43.1% from the field, 32.0% from beyond the arc and 84.2% from the free-throw line.

The Hornets are 11-21. They are in 12th place in the Eastern Conference standings. All signs point toward Charlotte missing the playoffs and NBA play-in tournament.
