Charlotte Hornets announcer Eric Collins has been granted a special decision regarding the NFL.

The Charlotte Hornets are expected to be one of the more fun teams in the NBA this coming season, with the team having a mixture of young talent and veteran experience.

Charlotte has a lot of reasons to be excited, and this group could do some damage in the Eastern Conference. The Hornets had a busy offseason, and this group can't wait to get the season started.

But before the season gets started, Hornets announcer Eric Collins will be doing some other work. Collins has been given another chance to call a game in the NFL, which will mark the second of his career.

The Hornets announcer called a game last season, and it was well met by fans across the league. Now, Collins will be calling the Cincinnati Bengals and Miami Dolphins game this weekend on FOX.

This is a cool opportunity for Collins, giving him another chance to broaden his range in the sports world. Charlotte fans know how special Collins is, and now more fans across sports will as well.

Collins has been with the Hornets since 2015, and he has done well to give the fans in Charlotte one of the more fun broadcasts in the NBA. His work has helped him be added to the NBA on Prime team last season.

Getting to call an NFL game is always fun for announcers, and if he does well again, this could be a more consistent thing for him. But Collins will remain with the Hornets, and like the team, he is getting ready for the new season.

Charlotte now has young forward Brandon Miller as the franchise player, following a trade of star guard LaMelo Ball over the summer. Miller will be tasked with taking on more responsibility as a scoring option, playmaker, and leader for this organization.

If he can seize the opportunity in front of him, the Hornets could be a surprise team this coming season and beyond. Charlotte has full confidence in Miller, giving him the keys to the car for the foreseeable future.

Next to Miller is second-year forward Kon Knueppel, who is expected to take another jump this season. Miller and Knueppel are the two top options for this team moving forward, with the Hornets undergoing big changes this offseason.

Charlotte's new season will start on October 21, when the Hornets travel to take on the Brooklyn Nets. The Hornets will then go back home to face the Atlanta Hawks on October 23.
