The Charlotte Hornets have once again been connected as a future destination for superstar point guard Steph Curry.

The Charlotte Hornets are one of the fastest rising teams in the NBA. After a breakout year last season, the team is looking to take yet another step during the upcoming 2026-27 campaign.

During the NBA offseason, the Hornets have made quite a few changes. Most notably, they traded star point guard LaMelo Ball to the Minnesota Timberwolves. In addition, Charlotte moved forward Miles Bridges in a trade with the Phoenix Suns.

While the roster looks a bit different, the Hornets are in good position to compete in the Eastern Conference. If young players like Kon Knueppel and Brandon Miller can take another step forward, they are going to be a tough team to beat.

That being said, there are questions about the future in Charlotte. Will the Hornets get aggressive soon to bring in a top-tier star? How about Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Steph Curry?

Curry, who is a hometown hero, has been rumored to potentially have interest in playing for the Hornets at some point before the end of his career. Those rumors have come back up of late.

According to a report from Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic, Curry may no longer be on the same page with the Warriors following their failed pursuit of LeBron James.

"I think he's probably tired of the star chasing," Thompson wrote.

During a recent appearance, ESPN Radio personality Evan Cohen suggested that Curry heading to Charlotte is a "justifiable conversation" to be had.

"I think that Steph Curry ultimately finishes his career with the Warriors. That said, right now, today, is the first time it is justifiable to entertain the conversation about him going back home to Charlotte," Cohen said.

"Not because he will. And not because a trade will be made, but simply because the Charlotte Hornets arguably had the single best offseason, non-LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo or Jaylen Brown related, of any team in the league. They are loaded with draft picks. They are loaded with contracts of players that another team would want. And they have players in Brandon Miller and Kon Knueppel that maybe Steph would say, 'I can see myself mentoring those two on the way out.'"

Simply thinking about the idea of Curry finishing his career with the Hornets is weird. But, it could make some level of sense.

Curry being able to head home to Charlotte, while also playing for a potential NBA Finals contender would make the situation even more difficult to pass on.

Again, it's important to know that the idea of Curry leaving the Warriors is unlikely. He is much more likely to finish his career where it started. However, the idea of the Hornets landing Curry is a bit more possible than it was just a few short years ago.
