The Charlotte Hornets are on a nine-game winning streak and the winning streak means a lot to Miles Bridges.
Bridges has spent his entire NBA career with the Hornets. He's never been to the playoffs and has endured several losing seasons with Charlotte.
That's why this nine-game winning streak has Bridges feeling great.
The Hornets are 25-28. They are in 10th place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Bridges is averaging 18.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game this season while shooting 45.1% from the field, 33.0% from beyond the arc and 84.1% from the free-throw line.
The Hornets, led by second-year head coach Charles Lee, are 14th in the NBA in points per game, 11th in points per game allowed, seventh in offensive rating, 18th in defensive rating and 13th in net rating.
"What goes through my mind is consistency of habits, consistency of defensive and offensive competitiveness and togetherness," Lee said about the Hornets' nine-game winning streak. "It's really just the Hornets' DNA. Through and through, we've found different ways to win games, but I think that the group is just growing in a lot of ways.
"You're seeing the defensive effort consistently be there and offensively, the same type of thing."
The Hornets haven't made the playoffs since 2016. With Bridges, LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller and Kon Knueppel leading the way, it appears Charlotte will make a lot of noise in the second half of the season.
"Now we're playing meaningful basketball, meaningful games," Knueppel said after the Hornets beat the Atlanta Hawks. "And so every game, it's going to be kind of looking at the standings and all that, and we're battling for playoff position as we hit the home stretch of the season after the All-Star break."
Miller leads the Hornets in scoring. The talented swingman is averaging 20.3 points per game.
Ball is averaging 19.1 points per game, while Knueppel is putting up 18.9 points per game and shooting 42.8% from beyond the arc.
Charlotte will look to make it 10 wins in a row when Lee and Co. host the Detroit Pistons on Monday.
