This is huge news for Brandon Miller and the Charlotte Hornets.

Charlotte Hornets small forward Brandon Miller is getting a second opinion on his injured left shoulder, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes.

Miller suffered a left shoulder injury against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Hornets said Miller was diagnosed with shoulder subluxation.

"League sources have informed me that Brandon Miller is actually seeking a second opinion right now," Haynes said on NBA TV. "As that can kind of give you a feel on where things are at right now.

"So the Hornets plan to re-evaluate Miller once the team gets back from its road trip, which will be in the middle of this week."

Miller only played in 27 games last season because of wrist surgery. Everyone in Charlotte is praying that the talented swingman didn't suffer another serious injury.

The 22-year-old Miller is averaging 14.5 points and 4.0 assists this season while shooting 40.0% from the field, 18.2% from beyond the arc and 70.0% from the free-throw line.

Before getting hurt last season, Miller was showing the NBA world that he was a budding star. The swingman averaged 21.0 points and played well next to Hornets All-Star point guard LaMelo Ball.

Ball averaged 30.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 7.6 assists next to Miller, who averaged 19.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists alongside LaMelo last season.

The Hornets haven't made the playoffs since 2016. They won't make the playoffs this season if Miller is out for an extended period of time.

Charlotte selected Miller with the second overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft out of Alabama. Miller has career averages of 18.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists with the Hornets.

Charlotte is currently 2-1 on the season. The team beat the Brooklyn Nets in Game 1, lost to the Sixers in Game 2 and beat the Washington Wizards in Game 3.

Miller had 25 points and seven assists against the Nets on opening night.

With Miller out, Ball will have to take his game to another level. The point guard was terrific against the Wizards without Miller by his side. He put up a stellar stat line of 38 points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists.
