An NBA legend has sent a warning to the Eastern Conference regarding the Charlotte Hornets.

The Charlotte Hornets have been the most pleasant surprise in the NBA this season, as they are sitting at 39-34 and firmly in contention for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The record hardly tells the story, either.

The Hornets have gone 23-6 over their last 29 games and own the largest margin of victory in wins in NBA history.

Charlotte has been thoroughly dominant over the last couple of months, and it looks absolutely terrifying heading into the playoffs.

NBA legend Kevin Garnett has delivered a stern warning to the rest of the East regarding the Hornets, claiming that one of the reasons they are dangerous is because they don't truly understand what's going on.

"Charlotte is naive enough to think that they can," Garnett said on KG Certified. "You don't want to see them right now. You don't want to play no team with no super confidence. And they got super confidence."

Garnett's warning may sound a bit odd, but he's right.

The Hornets won 19 games last year. People certainly expected them to be improved this season, but no one anticipated this.

Charlotte is playing with house money. There is essentially zero pressure on LaMelo Ball and Co. heading into the playoffs.

If the Hornets lose a play-in game or lose in the first round? Oh well. They weren't supposed to be there anyway. If they win? Then all bets are off.

That's what makes Charlotte such a fearsome opponent for the top teams in the East.

The Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics and New York Knicks are all supposed to beat the Hornets. Defeating them in a seven-game series won't be considered much of an accomplishment. Not for a title contender.

But if any of those clubs lose to Charlotte? It would be considered a massive failure. That's what makes the Hornets so dangerous.

Charlotte is being spearheaded by a young core consisting of Ball, Brandon Miller and Kon Knueppel, not to mention players like Coby White, Moussa Diabate and Ryan Kalkbrenner.

The Hornets are deep, they're fun and they're playing with supreme confidence. That's a frightening combination for any opponent.
