The Dallas Mavericks shocked the sports world last season by trading Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers.
If the Mavericks can trade Doncic, anything is possible.
With that said, an NBA trade idea sending Stephen Curry from the Golden State Warriors to the Charlotte Hornets has been created by Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report:
Stephen Curry for Brandon Miller, Miles Bridges, Collin Sexton, a 2026 first-round pick, a 2030 first-round pick and a 2032 first-round pick
Curry's dad calls games for the Hornets. He grew up in Charlotte. It would be pretty cool to see the greatest shooter in NBA history play for his hometown team.
Curry has won four championships, two MVPs and one Finals MVP with the Warriors, who are no longer a championship contender. With his career almost over, Curry should request a trade from Golden State and finish his basketball story where it started.
"The Charlotte Hornets are in Curry's home state. They have plenty of draft capital to send the Warriors' way. And LaMelo Ball and Kon Knueppel being able to play with Curry could be positively transformative for the rest of their careers," Bailey wrote.
This NBA trade idea pairs Curry with LaMelo Ball and Kon Knueppel. The Hornets are 22nd in the NBA in attendance. They would see a huge rise in attendance numbers with Curry, one of the most popular players in sports history, in the fold.
A future Hall of Famer, Curry is still putting up superstar numbers despite being 37 years old. He's averaging 27.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game this season while shooting 46.8% from the field, 39.0% from beyond the arc and 93.0% from the free-throw line.
Look, the odds of this NBA trade idea happening are very, very, very, very low. But again, no one thought the Mavericks would ever trade Doncic. The Warriors won't trade Curry unless he requests a trade, so this is different from the Doncic situation.
But hey, Michael Jordan played for the Washington Wizards and LeBron James has played for three teams. Not every NBA legend stays in one place.
