

The Charlotte Hornets have acquired Xavier Tillman from the Boston Celtics, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.
The Hornets are also getting $3.5 million in the deal.
Tillman has appeared in 14 games this season. He's averaging 2.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game while shooting 45.2% from the field and 20.0% from beyond the arc.
The 27-year-old Tillman has played for the Memphis Grizzlies and Celtics. He holds career averages of 5.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. The Michigan State product won the 2024 championship with Boston.
Charlotte was very busy at the trade deadline. The franchise acquired Coby White from the Chicago Bulls and Malaki Branham from the Dallas Mavericks. The Hornets waived Mike Conley after acquiring the veteran from the Bills and waived Pat Connaughton.
The Hornets are 23-28 on the season. They are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Bulls are only one game ahead of the Hornets for 10th place. Seeds 7-10 make the NBA play-in tournament.
LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges were in trade rumors, but the Hornets decided to keep both guys. Charlotte is the hottest team in the NBA, winners of its last seven games.
