The Charlotte Hornets are looking to trade Miles Bridges.
The Charlotte Hornets are expected to make Miles Bridges available in trade talks this offseason, according to Marc Stein and Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.
Bridges could have a broader trade market this summer.
Bridges has spent his entire career with the Hornets. He'll make $22,826,087 next season in the final year of his contract.
Bridges appeared in 77 games for the Hornets this season. He averaged 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game while shooting 46.0% from the field, 33.3% from beyond the arc and 82.2% from the free-throw line.
Charlotte was one win away from making the playoffs this year for the first time since 2016. Bridges and LaMelo Ball, the longest-tenured players on the Hornets, have never been to the playoffs.
Bridges was the 12th overall pick in the 2018 draft out of Michigan State. He holds career averages of 15.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
The Hornets appear to have a bright future with Ball, Brandon Miller, Kon Knueppel and Moussa Diabate. Only time will tell if Bridges is part of the core moving forward.
Since Bridges doesn't have a no-trade clause in his contract, the Hornets can trade the swingman anywhere.
According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Hornets offered Bridges, Josh Green and a draft pick to the Sacramento Kings for Domantas Sabonis. Charlotte is trying to pair Sabonis with Ball, Miller and Knueppel.
"The Sacramento Kings and Charlotte Hornets had exploratory trade talks surrounding Domantas Sabonis, league sources told HoopsHype," Scotto wrote. "One framework loosely kicked around included Charlotte's Miles Bridges, Josh Green, and a potential first-round draft pick going to Sacramento in exchange for Sabonis, sources said. Charlotte has two first-round selections in the upcoming draft, including the 14th and 18th picks. However, Charlotte has been resistant to including one of those first-round picks thus far in a trade package involving Sabonis."
If Charlotte gets Sabonis, head coach Charles Lee can start Ball, Miller, Knueppel, Sabonis and Moussa Diabaté next season. That's a strong starting five on paper.
The 2026 NBA Draft is on June 23. Bridges' name will be in a bevy of trade rumors this summer.
