The Sacramento Kings have a reunion on their hands.
But there's more -- as they now have a historic mark attached to them following Thursday's loss to the Orlando Magic.
The losers of 15 straight now welcome one of the Western Conference's best teams in the San Antonio Spurs for a Saturday night tilt.
NBC Sports California will air the game at 5 p.m. PT. Fans can also lock in with NBA League Pass featuring the no-commercial Premium option ($114.99) and the standard option ($79.99, more commercials).
But Kings fans who do tune in will see a familiar face: Spurs star De'Aaron Fox.
The same Fox who became a part of the last Kings playoff team of the 2022-23 when he was lighting the beam. Now his former team hasn't lit the beam since Jan. 16 -- one month before the NBA All-Star Game Break.
Even Kings insider for the Sacramento Bee Jason Anderson reminded fans of Fox's impact before the game inside the Frost Bank Center.
"The Sacramento Kings don’t need to be reminded of how far they’ve fallen since making the playoffs in 2022-23, but they will be when they visit the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday at Frost Bank Center," Anderson said. "Fox spent seven-plus seasons in Sacramento after coming out of Kentucky as the No. 5 pick in the 2017 NBA draft. He was sent to the Spurs in February 2025 as part of the three-team trade that brought Zach LaVine to Sacramento."
Well, LaVine is a no go here as he underwent hand surgery to close out his season. And he's not alone on the ones shutting it down.
Domantas Sabonis called it a season by undergoing season-ending knee surgery. Same with De'Andre Hunter more recently, though his involves iritis in his left eye which affected his retina.
Sacramento hasn't been the same since dealing away Fox. Now its positioned to potentially land the No. 1 pick in the June NBA Draft once the lottery picks are made on May 10. Fans are already envisioning AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson or Cam Boozer heading over.
All the more reason why the Spurs are the overwhelming 18-point underdog here pr FanDuel Sportsbook -- and will likely cover.
