Sacramento bolsters its backcourt depth with a sharpshooting G League standout. The former Baylor star brings defensive versatility and veteran experience to the California Classic summer roster.
The Sacramento Kings filled another two-way spot by signing former Oklahoma City Thunder guard Adam Flagler to a two-way contract, first reported by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Flagler becomes the second two-way signing after Sacramento agreed to a deal with former Toronto Raptors forward Jonathan Mogbo. The 26-year-old played for the Austin Spurs, the San Antonio Spurs' G League affiliate, last season.
He appeared in 17 games, starting 12 of them, and averaged 14.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 31.1 minutes of action. Flagler also displayed defensive versatility with 1.1 steals.
The Duluth, Georgia, native did not receive a call-up from San Antonio throughout the season, meaning his last NBA game was with Oklahoma City. He played for the Thunder for two seasons (2023-2025) and appeared in 37 games in the 2024-25 season.
Coach Mark Daigneault primarily called Flagler's name when his team dominated its opponent. Flagler averaged 1.8 points in 5.5 minutes when he took the court.
Daigneault gave Flagler some advice during his brief stint in Oklahoma City. It's advice Flagler lives by as he competes to extend his NBA career.
"Every day you have to restart your mindset and go 0-0," Flager told Down to Dunk podcast host Andrew Schlecht during 2024 Thunder Media Day. "Challenge yourself to be as consistent as possible."
Flagler also spent time with the OKC Blue, Oklahoma City's G League affiliate, in the 2023-24 season. The 6-foot-3 guard appeared in 30 games for the Blue and averaged 14.1 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 25.8 minutes. He showed some three-point range during that season, shooting 40.6% on 6.9 attempts.
The former Baylor Bear posted a career-high 31 points against the Texas Legend on Nov. 21, 2024. He added seven rebounds and eight assists to his career night.
Like his two-way teammate, Mogbo, Flager will join the Kings' summer league roster ahead of Friday's California Classic. The California Classic is a three-day tournament, and Sacramento is kicking off the weekend against the Brooklyn Nets.
As a two-way signing, Flager should receive ample playing time to show the front office and coaching staff what he provides to the team. Sacramento was affected by the injury bug last season, so a decent showing in the summer could see Flagler make his return to an NBA floor sooner rather than later.
Flager is a nice two-way addition, alongside Mogbo, and the Stockton Kings could have another good G League season. Stockton has emerged as a powerhouse affiliate in recent years.
The team has won back-to-back conference championships and has won the G League Finals in 2025.
