Darius Acuff Jr. and Kingston Flemings rocketed up draft boards after dominant combine displays, showcasing the elite measurements and explosive athleticism necessary to ignite Sacramento’s backcourt rotation.
The 2026 NBA Draft Combine is underway until Sunday, and Bleacher Report named two draft prospects for the Sacramento Kings as winners throughout the week-long event.
Jonathan Wasserman named Darius Acuff Jr. and Kingston Flemings as winners at the combine for their measurements and drill performances.
Wasserman said lottery teams prioritized learning about Acuff Jr.'s measurements. The former Arkansas Razorback stands tall at 6-foot-2, weighs 185.8 lbs and has a 6'7" wingspan.
His combine measurements are similar to Damian Lillard's when he attended the 2012 combine -- standing tall at 6'1¾" and weighing 188 lbs with a 6'7¾" wingspan -- and Immanuel Quickley.
Acuff Jr.'s scoring and playmaking ability, paired with his strength, could overshadow his measurements as a smaller guard who often gets hunted on the defensive end.
"This should put him firmly in play for the Los Angeles Clippers at No. 5 and certainly the Brooklyn Nets at No. 6, assuming AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer and Caleb Wilson go top four in some order," Wasserman wrote on Wednesday. "Other point-guard needy teams may also have more confidence in making Acuff a trade-up target."
The Detroit, Michigan native has put together an impressive combine showcase so far. He showcased his three-point range by shooting 18-for-25 in the spot-up drill and 13-for-25 in the three-point star drill.
Wasserman said Flemings had average measurements, but his performance in the combine drills overshadowed them.
Flemings stands tall at 6'2½", weighs 183.4 lbs and has a 6'3½" wingspan. These measurements are similar to those of Acuff Jr., which is a reason for concern on the defensive end.
However, he surprised scouts with his shooting ability and athleticism. The former Houston Cougar shot 19-for-25 in the three-point star drill -- overtaking Connecticut's Alex Karaban -- and shot 15-for-25 in the spot-up drill.
Flemings' athleticism was on full display, placing top five in maximum vertical (40.5"), pro lane agility test (10.61 seconds), shuttle run (2.69 seconds) and sprint time (3.07 seconds).
"His all-around performance on Tuesday seemingly mirrored his game and scouting profile, reinforcing the idea that he's simply a very complete player, regardless of how his upside is perceived," Wasserman wrote.
The Kings fell to the seventh overall pick in last Sunday's lottery. While the organization will miss out on the consensus top-four picks: Dybantsa, Peterson, Wilson and Boozer, they are in a firm position for Flemings and Acuff Jr.
Both are lead point guards who can score at all three levels and initiate the offense with their playmaking. Acuff Jr. and Flemings are still top-end talent who could accelerate the Kings' rebuild.
Sacramento is entering the offseason in the second apron and general manager Scott Perry wants to get younger and shed salary for financial flexibility.
