Kings' Keegan Murray Goes Down with Leg Injury, Helped Off Floor vs. Bucks cover image

Devastating blow for the Kings as Keegan Murray exits with a leg injury. The team's hope falters as he's helped off the court.

The Sacramento Kings were hit with yet another devastating blow on Sunday night, as their do-it-all wing Keegan Murray appeared to injure his lower leg during the team's battle against the Milwaukee Bucks.

In what was already a rout leading up to the event, Murray's ailment added injury to insult as he went down in a heap after a play in the third quarter. The fourth-year forward would then require assistance with leaving the floor and heading back to the locker room.

"Keegan Murray limping off here in the 3rd after taking a hard fall under the hoop," Kings beat reporter Sean Cunningham shared via X.

"Got to center court sideline before needing two members of the staff to assist him to the locker room."

"Sacramento Kings forward Keegan Murray (left ankle) will not return to tonight's game vs. the Milwaukee Bucks," Anderson revealed via X.

As if the Kings could use another bump in the road throughout what has proven to be a horrid 2025-26 campaign, Murray's removal adds one more hurdle for the struggling 8-27 group to jump over.

Prior to going down with the injury and leaving the game, the Kings' former No. 4 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft scored 12 points, brought in three rebounds and swatted one shot while shooting 6-for-14 from the field in a shade under 27 minutes of work.

For the season, he'd averaged 14.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists, and his three-point shooting efficiency had cratered to an abysmal 28.1% clip in 18 appearances this season.

Though Murray had gotten off to a rough start in his fourth NBA season, he still served as a beam (no pun intended) of hope for a Kings roster devoid of any for most of the year.

It could be argued that things were even looking up heading into the bout against Milwaukee after it was announced that Sacramento's star scoring guard Zach LaVine would be reinserted into the Kings' lineup after missing an extended period of time due to injury.

Unfortunately, LaVine's on-court reunion with Murray, DeMar DeRozan and Russell Westbrook would be short-lived.

Now, Kings fans will begin their search for another beacon of hope to keep their eye on while Murray takes the next steps towards recovery moving forward.
