Can the surging Sacramento Kings upset the favored Minnesota Timberwolves? A wounded Sacramento team faces a Minnesota squad has an eye on a crucial upcoming showdown with the defending world champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder. Here are some interesting points to think about going into the game.

The Sacramento Kings (4-13) host the Minnesota Timberwolves (10-6), Monday night at Golden 1 Center. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. local time, with the live TV broadcast on FDSN.

Once again, the Kings (+9.5, -110) are huge underdogs against the Timberwolves (-9.5, -110), with the Money line also significantly favoring Minnesota (-380). The Kings are (+310) to win for the second straight time as big underdogs.

The over/under total is 237.5 points, as per DraftKings. The Kings, coming off arguably their best win of the young NBA season, took down the Denver Nuggets as 10.5 point road underdogs on Saturday night.

The Timberwolves are looking to bounce back, after losing as 3.5-point road favorites in Phoenix three nights ago.

This spot is tricky because the Kings are returning home to play their second game in three nights. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves, who are 5-3 on the road this season, not to mention 3-2 in their last five games, defeated the Kings in Minnesota on Nov.14.

The Timberwolves, in what could be classified as a classic look-ahead spot, play at the Oklahoma Thunder in a prime-time spot on Wednesday night.

Minnesota lost to the Thunder in the 2025 Western Conference Finals, marking the second straight season they’ve been sent fishing by Oklahoma.

The Kings, 2-5 at home this season, haven’t won in their home building since Nov. 5, when they defeated a short-handed Golden State Warriors squad.

Minnesota, going into tonight with only Terrence Shannon Jr. (left fifth metatarsal bone bruise) listed as questionable, is relatively injury-free, while the Kings are still without star center Domanas Sabonis (17.2 points and 12.3 rebounds per game).

Sacramento could possibly stay within the number and send a bunch of happy NBA bettors to the cash window. Especially, with the Timberwolves possibly looking ahead.
