In this profile, I will showcase Houston guard Milos Uzan, who made big strides during his two collegiate seasons with head coach Kelvin Sampson
Floor General
Uzan excels on-the-ball, initiating offense and finding his teammates for open looks.
The 6-foot-4 guard averaged four assists per game, while posting one of the best assist-to-turnover ratios in the country (3.08).
Amidst the Cougars' offensive struggles, Uzan did struggle from the field, but showed the ability to score at a high level on multiple occasions.
Early in the season, Uzan dropped 26 points on 50-percent shooting, knocking down four triples against Syracuse in a 78-74 overtime victory.
He tied this total later in the year against Colorado, scoring a game-high 26 in a 102-62 thrashing.
Defensive Intensity
Playing defense at a high level is a non-negotiable with Houston, and Uzan had no problem doing so.
Uzan has a great motor and frequently finds himself in the correct defensive positions off-the-ball.
He has good size for his position, which allows Uzan to switch onto taller players and hold his own.
Uzan also stays out of foul trouble, averaging 1.4 penalties per game last season despite emulating the Cougars' physical brand of defense.
He is also very durable, starting all 37 games and leading the team with 1,219 minutes played.
Areas For Improvement
After leading the Cougars in 3-point percentage (42.8-percent) in 2024, Uzan dipped to 34.3-percent in his senior campaign.
Uzan needs to get back to a higher level of consistency from deep to carve out a significant role at the next level.
Draft Projection
Uzan is ranked as the No. 58 overall prospect on ESPN's big board, likely seen as a late second rounder.
Teams looking for a low-turnover backup guard should be interested in Uzan.
Are Kings a Fit?
Uzan brings a level of playmaking and low-risk ball handling to the NBA, which Sacramento could benefit from.
With the uncertainty surrounding veteran members of the backcourt, Uzan could be a value pick late in the second if the Kings moved back into the back-10 of the draft.
