Seeking another draft-day steal, Sacramento scouts dynamic scorers and elite rim protectors as the front office evaluates six high-upside prospects vying for the team’s two second-round picks.
The Sacramento Kings made the best pick of the second round in last year's draft, landing Stanford center Maxime Raynaud with the No. 42 overall pick.
With Raynaud earning All-Rookie Second Team Honors, the front office will be looking to strike gold once more, with two second round selections in this year's draft.
On Friday, Sacramento hosted six prospects who are mocked as late second rounders of high-priority UDFAs.
Boopie Miller (G, SMU)
Miller was one of the most dynamic guards in the ACC last season, averaging 19.1 points (4th in the conference) and 6.4 assists (second in the conference).
The two-year Mustang posted a 39-game streak of 10 or more points spanning over two seasons - the longest since 2000.
Late in the season against FSU, Miller exploded for a career-high 32 points, knocking down 7-of-11 3-point atempts.
Nick Boyd (G, Wisconsin)
As a graduate student, Boyd had a stellar season with the Badgers, posting averages of 20.7 points, 4.3 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game.
In early January, Boyd scored 22 points against then-unbeaten Michigan, handing the Wolverines their first loss in the process.
Just one week later, Boyd dropped 32 points and nine assists against Rutgers, marking four 20+ point performances in five games.
Lamar Wilkerson (G, Indiana)
After a standout 3-year career with Sam Houston State, Wilkerson made the jump to power four basketball, signing with Indiana for his senior campaign.
The 6-foot-6 combo guard led the Hoosiers in scoring, with his 20.9 points per game scoring average marking the highest scoring average for an Indiana guard since Eric Gordon (2007-08).
Anthony Roy (G, Oklahoma State)
After stops with San Francisco and New Mexico State, Roy took his talents to Green Bay for his junior season, where the Oakland, CA, native averaged a whopping 25.7 points per game, on 43.2-percent shooting from deep.
Unfortunately, just 11 games in, Roy suffered a season-ending ankle injury.
However, he bounced back with a nice season with the Cowboys, averaging 16.9 points per game.
Izaiyah Nelson (G, South Florida)
After three seasons with Arkansas State, Nelson swept the American Conference's awards, winning Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Newcomer of the Year.
Nelson led the Bulls to a 25-win season, leading them to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in nearly 15 years.
Ugonna Onyenso (C, Virginia)
Onyenso was a big reason for the Cavaliers success, averaging 6.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game.
The elite rim protector was 1st in the ACC in blocks, ranking second nationally.
Onyenso is currently seen as a mid-late second round prospect, ranking as the No. 43 overall player on ESPN's big board.
