The Kings are in a sad state of affairs even with Doug Christie leading the team. One analyst believes Christie's high-profile teammate should come over.

The Sacramento Kings have cycled through Vlade Divac, Peja Stojakovic and now, Doug Christie in the attempt to turn around this floundering franchise.

One analyst now believes it's time to give Chris Webber a call amid the atrocious start.

CBS Sports NBA columnist Sam Quinn released his latest league front office rankings Tuesday and showed no love toward the Kings. Sacramento sits at No. 30 overall among best front offices in the league...meaning they're dead last.

"They had the unanimous Coach of the Year in 2023 [Mike Brown]. He didn't even last until the end of the calendar year of 2024. He's now thriving with the Knicks. Let's just say his replacement, Doug Christie, is not," Quinn wrote. "At least he played for the 2002 Kings, though."

Still, Quinn called out the past failures of two other revered Kings players when they held front office roles.

"Between Vlade Divac's disastrous GM tenure and Peja Stojakovic's time as his deputy, more than half of that team's starting lineup has now held vital roles within the organization," Quinn said.

That's when Quinn dropped this stirring question and suggestion.

"What's Chris Webber up to? Maybe he can fix this," Quinn stated.

Webber indeed is a revered name for the franchise. After all, he played with the aforementioned Kings legends in their first-ever Western Conference title game trip. Plus added one more playoff run inside the former Arco Arena.

However, considering how past members of that famed '02 team have fared, it might be best for Webber to keep his distance. Divac and Stojakovic didn't last in their front office tenures. Christie appears to be safe for now considering current general manager Scott Perry has his backing. However, this trajectory both are on doesn't promise they'll be around for the next five seasons or less.

"When this season ends, they'll have made the playoffs once in the last 20 years," Quinn said.

Quinn did hand the Kings kudos for one move before pivoting to feeling melancholy toward the fanbase.

"Dylan Cardwell was a nice two-way signing," Quinn said. "I'm really straining to find anything else positive here. It's a shame, too. The Kings have some of the NBA's best fans. They deserve better than this."

The 52-year-old Webber has since dipped into the television and entrepreneurial field. He launched his own cannabis brand in 2022 called "Players Only" regarding the latter.

But again, three members of the best Kings team ever produced have struggled getting this franchise off the ground. It's probably best for Sacramento State head coach and ex-Kings star Mike Bibby to stay away too.
