As the Sacramento Kings continue to struggle early in the NBA season, it is clear that Darius Acuff Jr. has the keys to the offensive operations. After a 38-point performance against Memphis, Acuff became the second-fastest player to eclipse 150 career points in NBA history.

The Sacramento Kings remain winless, but rookie point guard Darius Acuff Jr. seems to be all that was advertised and more.

At just 19 years old, Acuff scored 34 points in the Kings' 132-120 loss against the New Orleans Pelicans, joining future NBA Hall of Famer LeBron James as the only two teenagers in NBA history to post a half of 20 or more points, five or more assists, and 70% or better shooting from the field.

Acuff has continued to look comfortable with each game, surpassing this scoring mark in Saturday's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

The No. 7 overall pick scored a game-high 38 points, making 12-of-25 shot attempts and knocking down nine 3-pointers.

After Saturday, Acuff became the second-fastest player in NBA history to reach the 150-point mark, trailing only Wilt Chamberlain.

Acuff's ability to manipulate different coverages in ball screen and two-man actions is notable, as he likes to get his defender on his hip and play with pace to get to an open look.

The former Arkansas standout has not been bashful in his shot attempts, averaging over 20 per game, but its not like he's taking bad shots.

Acuff has a knack for creating space and being able to rise up for jump shots in the mid-range, combined with athletic driving ability and a dangerous 3-pointer.

He is currently the NBA's eighth-leading scorer and will definitely be in the running for NBA Rookie of the Year if the team can begin stringing together some victories.

For Acuff, winning is all that matters to him, as he has articulated following the Kings' early defeats.

After losing to the Grizzlies by 31 points, the Kings have only been within single-digits when the clock hits zero just once this season, as defense continues to haunt head coach Doug Christie's group.

Heading into Monday's matchup with the Dallas Mavericks, Acuff will have his hands full trying to guard Mavs point guard Kyrie Irving.

This will definitely be Acuff's toughest defensive challenge to this point of his young NBA career, and is another tough team for Sacramento to try to knock off.

The Kings travel to Dallas to face the Mavericks on Monday at 8:00 p.m.
