The Sacramento Kings watched history involving Russell Westbrook.
But also witnessed the San Antonio Spurs hit 132 points.
The Western Conference contender blew out the Kings in their own home venue 132-104 on Tuesday night inside the Golden 1 Center. And the Spurs pulled off the rout on a night Westbrook cracked the top five in a pivotal list.
With an assist near the five-minute mark of the second quarter, Westbrook passed Steve Nash on the NBA's All-Time assists list.
Westbrook drew reactions online for his accolade.
"Russell Westbrook has had one of the most disrespected and underrated careers of any Hall-of-Fame talent in NBA history," posted ClutchPoints NBA insider Brett Siegel on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The Kings also showed him love online.
But again, the night belonged to San Antonio more in further proving how much the Spurs are becoming a force out west.
Victor Wembanyama set the tone with a driving dunk for the night's first points. Westbrook responded by hitting a driving layup. Harrison Barnes followed in getting his layup on the subsequent possession for San Antonio. Westbrook then dished out his first assist to rookie Maxime Raynaud, who finished with a floating 10-foot shot.
Stephon Castle, Barnes and Julian Champagnie blew the game open, though, as all three nailed consecutive three-pointers to extend the lead to 13-4. Raynaud broke up the run momentarily by hitting his two free throws.
But the closest Sacramento got to the Spurs was just nine. San Antonio simply overwhelmed the Kings the rest of the night in creating the one-sided rout.
Westbrook surpassing Nash wasn't the only highlight on the Kings' side. Raynaud played with even more fire and emotion, dropping an astonishing 32 points which is now a personal NBA best for the youngster. Raynaud's previous best was the 29 he scored against the Portland Trail Blazers on Dec. 18.
Nique Clifford added 15 points to finish second on Sacramento. Daeqwon Plowden added 14 points off the bench. Doug McDermott chipped in 12 points in 25 minutes off the bench. Precious Achiuwa added 10 points as a starter.
Raynaud came within one rebound of a double-double. Clifford and Dylan Cardwell added eight rebounds apiece. Westbrook finished with five points and 10 assists.
