New York Knicks star Josh Hart is on the mend and is slowly working his way back to entering the rotation and practicing with the squad.
The guard is still not interacting with the team in scrimmage work, but is working on individual drills to get back in basketball shape, according to head coach Mike Brown, who updated reporters Sunday, via the New York Post.
Hart will have to learn Brown's system which will incorporate a new offense and defense from the ones ran by Brown's predecessor Tom Thibodeau. Brown's only concern is that he will miss the cerebral part of the game as he is not going through the motions.
However, Brown has full confidence in his star that he will be a quick study and be ready for the start of the NJo
“He’s practiced a few times, played in one game. So you have a feel of what you’re going to get from Josh,” Brown said. “But the tough part about it is because what we’re doing is new, and he hasn’t gone through it, he’s a little behind in that regard.
“But he’s got a great feel, has watched us enough, he should be able to jump in. He might be a few steps behind, but he should be able to catch up quickly with the guys.”
As an aside, Brown did not divulge his rotation or the starters for the Monday night game against the Washington Wizards at the Garden.
“We still wanna take a look at some guys,” the first-year Knicks coach said. “The more minutes I can get guys, the better for us to make decisions, but I’m not 100 percent sure.”
