The New York Knicks set their injury report for game one of the Eastern Conference Finals.
The New York Knicks host game one of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday, May 19.
The third-seeded Knicks took care of the seventh-seeded Philadelphia 76ers in the second round, sweeping the series. The Knicks won three of the four games by double digits, including game four, which was a 30-point victory. They have won seven straight playoff games, and their only two losses of the playoffs came by one point each in the first round against the Atlanta Hawks.
The fourth-seeded Cavaliers upset the first-seeded Detroit Pistons, winning in seven games. The Cavaliers took game seven by a score of 125-94. They have gone seven games in both series, defeating the Toronto Raptors in the first round.
These two teams met on opening night, with the Knicks winning 119-111. The Knicks won the season series 2-,1 with the Knicks also winning on Christmas Day. The Cavaliers won 109-94 on February 24, which came after the trade deadline and was the only game James Harden played in the season series.
New York Knicks Injury Report
OG Anunoby is PROBABLE with a right hamstring strain. He's been sidelined since game two against the Sixers where he suffered the hamstring injury late in the game after playing 37 minutes and scoring 24 points. He is averaging 21.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.9 steals, and 1.1 blocks while shooting 61% from the field and 53% from three.
The Knicks are expected Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, and Anunoby.
Brunson has led the Knicks in scoring during the postseason, averaging 27.4 points. Towns is leading the team in assists with 6.6 per game.
Miles McBride, Mitchell Robinson, and Jordan Clarkson have been the top reserves for the Knicks throughout the first two rounds, though Landry Shamet and Jose Alvarado have gotten time as well.
Cleveland Cavaliers Injury Report
Larry Nance Jr is QUESTIONABLE with an illness. Nance Jr has played a total of five minutes in the playoffs thus far.
The Cavaliers are expected to start James Harden, Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen. Dean Wade or Max Strus will be the fifth starter. Wade has started in 11 of the 14 playoffs games, but Strus started in game seven against the Pistons.
Mitchell leads the Cavaliers in scoring in the playoffs with 25.6 points per game. Harden leads in assists at 6.2 per game. Mobley leads in rebounds with eight per game.
Sam Merrill, Dennis Schroder, and Wade or Strus have been the top options off the bench.
