In dramatic fashion once again, the Knicks defeated the Spurs in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, 107-106, this time in historic fashion. New York overcame a 29-point deficit, making it the largest comeback in NBA Finals history. 

San Antonio had complete control of the game up until the second half, which was when the Knicks began their rally and held the Spurs to just 30 points in the half. The Knicks were led by OG Anunoby and Jalen Brunson, who combined for 69 points in the game and 36 in the second half alone. 

This was a game decided in the closing minutes, and it was OG Anunoby who stepped up for the Knicks when it mattered most. In the final 11 seconds of the game, Anunoby recorded a game-saving block on De'Aaron Fox's layup and followed it up with a putback layup to give the Knicks a 107-106 lead with 1.5 seconds remaining. 

After the game, Jalen Brunson praised Anunoby for his heroics in Game 4 and reflected on the player he truly is. Brunson dismissed what outside voices think about Anunoby, saying the rest of the team knows he is a superstar. 

OG Anunoby has been one of the most impressive players in the Finals so far for the Knicks. He's averaged 23.8 points per game, 4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists while shooting 54 percent from the field and 53 percent from three. 

He was also a bright spot in the Knicks' lone loss in Game 3 and has now made a serious case for a Finals MVP award. While Anunoby was on the Toronto Raptors' roster during their run to the championship in 2019, he did not play.

He watched from afar when he won his first championship, but now that he is getting actual playing time in the Finals, he has stepped up for the moment. 

Another reason he has come up big for the Knicks is that Jalen Brunson has not gotten the looks he's normally been getting in the playoffs. Brunson has struggled to put together a consistent offensive game, but Game 4 was when he really came to life. 

Brunson finished with 36 points on 12-of-25 shooting, looking like his usual self throughout the postseason. If the Knicks can manage to get Brunson open looks again and have someone take pressure off him offensively, they are in good shape to win this series. 

San Antonio is now playing each game with their season on the line, and the Knicks will need to match its energy or top it moving forward.
