The New York Knicks took a 3-0 series lead against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday, winning game three, 121-108.

With their backs against the wall and needing a victory as the series moved to Cleveland, the Cavaliers did not have the start that they needed to, as the Knicks were in control from the opening tip.

The Knicks took a 3-0 lead thanks to a three-pointer by Karl-Anthony Towns, and never looked back. The Cavaliers never led in the game, and never got a handle on the Knicks on either end of the court.

The Knicks led by as many as 17 in the fourth quarter, easily fending off any potential comeback from the Cavaliers.

After the game, the Knicks All-Star center praised his head coach Mike Brown for the job he has done this season.

"He's getting the best from us as well as, I think we are getting the best from him," said Towns.

Brown took over from Tom Thibodeau, who had been with the Knicks for five seasons and went to the Eastern Conference Finals last season with the team. Despite an ECF appearance and back-to-back 50 win seasons, the Knicks went in a different direction in the offseason, bringing in Brown.

Towns said that Thibodeau helped get them to this point, and that Brown had big shoes to fill.

"We stepped into this season with a lot of expectation and with Mike, he's had to learn us and adjust to us, and we've had to do the same as well. Now we're at a point where we're both working seamlessly," said Towns.

Towns said it was a testament to the players and the coaching staff for adjusting and understanding each other.

Brown was hired after being fired by the Sacramento Kings just 31 games into his third season with the team. He led the Kings to the playoffs in his first season with the team in 2022-23, their first playoff appearance since 2005-06.

Brown won multiple championships as an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors from 2016 to 2022.

The Knicks were inconsistent at times throughout the regular season, but showed improvement on the offensive end, and started to come around on the defensive end by the end of the season.

They won the NBA Cup, and are now one win away from being the first NBA Cup Champions to make it to the NBA Finals.
