After a rocky start and multiple injury scares, the New York Knicks secured their 12th straight win in the playoffs with a 105-95 win over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. 

Point guard Jalen Brunson led the charge for the Knicks, scoring 30 points in the game and 13 in the fourth quarter. Brunson left the game early with a right knee injury and returned. He was also nursing a left ankle injury. 

After the game, Jalen Brunson was asked about the mentality of the Knicks after their win, to which Brunson reassured the media that the team is not satisfied with what they've done so far. 

New York was down 14 at one point in the second half and went through a long portion of the game in which they didn't possess a lead in the game. The Knicks ended the game on an 11-0 run, with Brunson hitting clutch shots to seal the win. 

Although he did not score much, Josh Hart was an X-factor for the Knicks, bringing down 15 rebounds and 6 assists without turning the ball over. Hart also played solid defense, and the Knicks were able to turn those into opportunities on offense. 

Karl-Anthony Towns also had a solid game, and while nobody on the Knicks stepped up as the true number two option in the fourth quarter, Towns was quietly productive for New York throughout the game. 

Towns finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds on 7-of-15 shooting. If the Knicks want a chance to win the NBA Finals, it will be imperative that he holds his own against San Antonio's Victor Wembanyama. 

The Knicks did not shoot the ball well from three-point range like they normally have throughout this 12-game winning streak in the playoffs. San Antonio also did not shoot the ball well from long range, shooting just 26 percent. 

The Knicks are 3 wins away from an NBA Championship. In Game 1, much of their success came from what they had previously done against other teams. New York hit timely shots against the Spurs and was able to contain their frontcourt. 

The 11-0 run to end the game encapsulated what the Knicks' philosophy is. If the Knicks want to continue their success in the Finals, pushing the ball in transition, defending, and making shots from three-point range will be crucial.
