Knicks Rule Out Key Guard Against Los Angeles Lakers cover image

The New York Knicks will be without Miles McBride against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The New York Knicks try to keep their winning streak alive as they welcome the Los Angeles Lakers to Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

The Knicks have won five straight games, taking down the Portland Trail Blazers 127-97 in their last contest. The five-game win streak comes on the heels of a four-game losing streak, when many had written the team off.

The Lakers picked up a victory in their last game, defeating the Washington Wizards 142-111, bouncing back from a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. They are wrapping up a lengthy eight-game road trip that will conclude against Brooklyn on Tuesday.

This is the first meeting of the season between the two squads, and could be the final time LeBron James plays at MSG. They will meet again on March 8 in Los Angeles.

New York Knicks Injury Report

The Knicks are listing Miles McBride as OUT with left ankle injury management.

McBride has missed the last two games with the injury. He last played on January 27 against the Sacramento Kings, scoring nine points in 29 minutes. The Knicks are 22-13 with McBride in the lineup.

The 25-year-old guard is averaging 12.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists while shooting 42% from three on nearly seven attempts per game. He is logging 28 minutes per night, typically coming off the bench.

Trey Jemison II, Pacome Dadiet, and Kevin McCullar Jr are all listed as QUESTIONABLE on G-League deals or assignment.

Los Angeles Lakers Injury Report

Austin Reaves is still on the injury report wth the Lakers listing him as QUESTIONABLE with a left calf strain.

Reaves has been out since Christmas Day against the Houston Rockets. There was a thought, and even a quickly deleted tweet by ESPN's Shams Charania, that Reaves would return on the road trip.

Lakers head coach JJ Redick said that Reaves would return "sooner than later" on the road trip, but with two games remaining, sooner is out the window.

Reaves was enjoying a career year before his injury, averaging 26.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6.3 assists in 23 games.

Bronny James is QUESTIONABLE with left lower leg soreness.

Bronny has seen an increase in playing time in the last two games, both of which have been blowouts. Against the Cavaliers, Bronny played eight minutes and scored eight points. Against the Wizards, he played five minutes, contributing four points. He's averaging 6.9 minutes per game, most of which come in garbage time.

Adou Thiero is still OUT with a right MCL sprain.
