Mike Brown Expresses Confidence In New York Knicks Amid Four-Game Slide cover image

New York Knicks head coach Mike Brown expresses confidence in team despite recent losses

There was an argument to be had that the New York Knicks were the best team in the NBA after defeating the San Antonio Spurs en route to an NBA Cup victory. However, the Knicks weren't able to use that as momentum, and have gone 7-11 since then, currently on a four-game losing streak.

The Knicks' most recent loss was at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks, as Max Christie's eight three-pointers were enough to bury them 114-97. To make it all worse, their past two losses have come at home, as the Knicks seem to be collapsing right before everyone's eyes.

Mike Brown Expresses Confidence

While injuries had been a reason to point to in the past, this Knicks team is healthy now, so it then becomes a question of whether or not this unit is best being set up for success with rotations and lineups.

After the frustrating loss, head coach Mike Brown was asked about his confidence in this group, sharing that he has all the belief in this group to turn it around.

"There's no doubt in my mind that I believe in everybody in that locker room. You can ask them, but I feel they believe in each other, too. We're going through it, we gotta figure out how to get out of it," Brown said.

When asked how he'll get this team out of it, Brown told reporters that he has some ideas, but not willing to share them.

Taking a look at the team during this losing streak, part of it can be attributed to the absence of Jalen Brunson, who has been hurt in three of the four contests during this streak. While Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, and OG Anunoby are good players, they aren't used to being the main options offensively on this team.

The Knicks' defense hasn't been bad during this losing streak, outside of allowing 126 points to the Golden State Warriors. The offense, though, needs some work, and that could come in the form of adjusting rotations, perhaps bringing Tyler Kolek back into the rotation, given the impact he made.

Looking ahead for the Knicks, Wednesday provides an ideal opportunity to bounce back with the Brooklyn Nets coming to Madison Square Garden. They'll then face the Philadelphia 76ers on a brief one-game road trip before playing the Sacramento Kings after that.

All three of these upcoming contests can be wins for the Knicks, but they need to find a way to turn over a new leaf and make some adjustments. If not, the pressure on the front office to make some changes will build rapidly.
