Mike Brown pointed to one big reason as to why the Knicks lost to the Charlotte Hornets.
The New York Knicks were taken down 114-103 by the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday and there was one fatal flaw that sunk the Knicks and Mike Brown didn't hold back when he pointed it out.
The Hornets out-rebounded the Knicks 43-24 and with those kinds of numbers, it makes it hard for any team to make up lost ground.
There was a major shot difference between the two teams that swayed in the Knicks' favor, but even though they attempted more shots, the amount of extra opportunities that the Hornets created for themselves paired with the 53% efficiency they shot from the field, there simply wasn't enough that the Knicks could do.

Mike Brown has been increasingly vocal about the Knicks shortcomings at times and he's especially upset after losses that he feels are preventable if his team just followed the game plan, which was the case Wednesday night.
"If you're going to go on the road and let a team out-rebound you 43-24, not even close," Brown said (NBA_NewYork). "Because we didn't put bodies on bodies. We didn't hit first. I keep telling my group, long shots need long rebounds and when we go to contest and we stop on the play, we have to do a better job."
The Knicks clearly have the talent to make a deep run in the playoffs, but they still falter at times because of a lack of execution, which is what happened on Wednesday.
On paper, the Knicks have enough talent and physical gifts that they should never be in a situation where they end up out-rebounded so heavily, but when they don't execute the game plan, especially one that's been fully laid out for them by their head coach, they end up setting themselves up for disaster.

Fixing Mistakes Before It's Too Late
As talented as the Knicks are, they need to tighten up those gaps in their execution to avoid any more disasters like they experienced against Charlotte.
The situation becomes eve more severe for the Knicks when it comes to the playoffs, where there is even less margin for error.
To win against other great teams, it takes a team to do everything right and sometimes have luck on their side as well.
What the Knicks are doing right now is committing preventable mistakes, like with their rebounding, and it's those mistakes that could ultimately end their season prematurely.
