Doncic is doing things that will be talked about for a long time.

It feels like an army couldn't slow down Luka Doncic right now.

The latest episode of the Slovenian superstar's heater dropped on Wednesday night in Sacramento, where his 40-piece carried the Los Angeles Lakers to a 116-103 road win over the Kings.

Doncic shot 11-for-23 from the field (6-for-13 3PT) and converted 12 of 13 free throws in 35 minutes. He added nine rebounds and seven assists to complete yet another scintillating display of basketball dominance.

Never Been Hotter

Doncic is on a scorching run of form that will be talked about for some time.

He is averaging 42.8 points over the last six games — plus 8.5 rebounds and 8.3 assists as the cherry on top. Luka has scored 40+ in five of his last six outings, including 52 points in the Lakers' win over Utah that began this stretch on Oct. 25.

When asked if this is the hottest he has ever seen Doncic, head coach JJ Redick said: "Probably this and the entire month of March last year."

Redick recalled a back-to-back on March 18-19, 2025, when Doncic posted 40 points, nine rebounds, and 10 assists in the Lakers' 124-116 road victory against the Houston Rockets before going on to pour in 60 points — including nine triples — in a 134-126 win in Miami less than 24 hours later.

Redick revealed that the Lakers landed on the East Coast after 4 a.m., calling what Doncic did despite that "magical."

So far this season, Redick has noticed Doncic benefiting from a tactical tweak.

"He's playing great right now, and he's doing a great job playing off the ball," Redick added — saying the latter has been intentional on the Lakers' part as a measure to take some of the ball-handling load against defensive pressure off Doncic.

The extra energy that Doncic has been able to expand as a pure scorer, as a direct result, is paying massive dividends.

Luka's early MVP case is going from strength to strength every time he touches the hardwood. He has been unplayable. Unguardable. Unstoppable.

Surging In The West

The Lakers (7-2) now hold the joint second-best record in the Western Conference, currently riding a three-game winning streak. They are only behind the 6-1 Portland Trail Blazers in the standings.

Doncic is leading the league in scoring with 38.3 points per game. He is third in assists (8.1).

After a tied first quarter, Los Angeles outscored Sacramento 59-46 in the second and third to create decisive separation heading into the final frame. The Lakers' largest lead was 18 points. They committed just 12 turnovers as a team and scored 23 points off the Kings' 18 giveaways.

Austin Reaves added 21 points, three rebounds, and four assists. Walker Kessler chipped in 15 points, eight rebounds, and seven stocks (three steals, four blocks). Ziaire Williams (10) and Collin Sexton (10) combined for 20 points off the bench.
