The Los Angeles Lakers will be getting some much-needed help to their lineup against the Philadelphia 76ers

The Los Angeles Lakers are nearing the end of their three-game contest, with their third and final game against the Philadelphia 76ers scheduled for Sunday. With these games just spanning four days, it's a challenge for the Lakers, who have dealt with injuries and absences to star players during this road trip.

On Friday against the Boston Celtics, the Lakers were without LeBron James due to injury and Luka Doncic, who was away for the second consecutive game to attend the birth of his child. However, Sunday brings good news for the Lakers, as there's a chance they could have all three of their stars available for Sunday's bout against the 13-9 76ers.

    Lakers Injury Report

Only one name is listed as OUT on the Lakers' injury report, with that being veteran guard Marcus Smart. Smart last played for the team in their 135-118 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on November 25th, as he's been battling a left lumbar strain.

While Smart has certainly brought value as a veteran leader and defender, averaging 1.8 steals per game this year, he's struggled immensely offensively, shooting just 40.8% from the field and an abysmal 25.4% from three.

The only other name listed on the injury report is LeBron James, who holds a QUESTIONABLE designation as he deals with right sciatica and left foot joint arthritis. The sciatica is what held James out to begin the season, and contributed to his sidelining against the Celtics.

James being back would be a big boost for the Lakers, but there might not be pressure for him to return, as Luka Doncic is no longer listed on the injury report and is set to be AVAILABLE for the Lakers after missing the past two games.

Doncic is currently on track to post the best stat line of his career with the Lakers, as he's averaging 35.3 points, 8.9 assists, and 8.9 rebounds through 16 games this season. He has also logged a 40-point game in five of his 16 contests, as well as three-straight to begin the year.

76ers Injury Report and Game Preview

The 76ers injury report has far more names, with Joel Embiid (knee) and Paul George (knee) both listed as PROBABLE, while Trendon Watford (adductor) and Kelly Oubre Jr. (knee) are listed as OUT. They will have both Jared McCain and Johni Broome ACTIVE, who are listed on the report as well.

A tough three-game road trip, the Lakers have a chance to walk away with a 2-1 record and head home to Los Angeles at 17-6 with their next game coming Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs. For now, tip-off in Philadelphia is set for 7:30 p.m. EST.
