The Lakers officially add new prospects for the new season.
The Los Angeles Lakers have officially completed their three-player two-way roster for the 2026-27 season after signing forward AK Okereke to a two-way contract on Sunday.
The move finalizes all three of the Lakers' available two-way spots, with Okereke joining Chris Mañon and Peter Suder as the franchise's developmental players heading into training camp and Summer League.
AK in College
Okereke, a 6-foot-7, 245-pound forward, spent the 2025-26 season at Vanderbilt after transferring from Cornell.
In 36 games, including 35 starts, he averaged 9.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 40% from 3-point range. The 23-year-old helped lead Vanderbilt to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2012.
Before his graduate season, Okereke developed into one of the Ivy League's top players at Cornell. As a junior in 2024-25, he averaged 13.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks while shooting an impressive 59% from the field, earning All-Ivy League honors.
While Okereke brings size and versatility, the Lakers also retained one of their top G League contributors in Mañon.
Mañon is Back as Well
L.A. re-signed the 24-year-old guard to a two-way contract after he appeared in nine NBA games during the 2025-26 season.
Mañon averaged 10.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.9 steals in 33 regular-season games for the South Bay Lakers and was named to the NBA G League All-Defensive Team. He also finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting while helping South Bay earn the top seed in the Western Conference.
Suder Addition
The Lakers' third two-way addition is Suder, one of the most accomplished guards in college basketball last season.
Suder, a 6-foot-5 guard from Miami (Ohio), averaged 14.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 54% from the field and 42% from 3-point range. He earned MAC Player of the Year and First Team All-MAC honors after helping the RedHawks finish the regular season with a perfect 31-0 record.
All three players are expected to spend time with both the Lakers and Coachella Valley while remaining available for NBA call-ups throughout the season.
For a franchise continuing to balance contention with player development, the trio gives L.A. three intriguing prospects with different skill sets: Okereke's versatility, Mañon's defense and Suder's all-around scoring and playmaking.
With the signing now official, the Lakers have completed their two-way roster and will get an extended look at all three players during Summer League in Las Vegas.
