The Los Angeles Lakers begin life without two key pieces.

The Los Angeles Lakers will try to close the season strong when they visit the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. 

The Lakers are coming off a 139-96 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a game that wasn't competitive. The loss snapped a four game winning streak. They are third in the West wth a 50-27 record, leading the Denver Nuggets by a half game. 

The Mavericks have lost three straight, dropping a game against the Orlando Magic the last time they were on the court. They have just one win in their last nine games. They are 24-53 on the season, trailing the New Orleans Pelicans by a half game in the lottery race. 

The Lakers are 3-0 in the season series. They last met on February 12, a 124-104 victory for Los Angeles. 

Los Angeles Lakers Injury Report

Luka Doncic is OUT with a left hamstring strain. Doncic suffered the injury in the third quarter against the Thunder. It was announced over the weekend that he will be out for the rest of the regular season. Luka finishes the season averaging 33.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 8.3 assists in 64 games. 

Austin Reaves is OUT with a left oblique muscle strain. Reaves also suffered the injury against the Thunder and will miss the rest of the regular season. He finishes the year averaging 23.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.5 assists in 51 games. 

Marcus Smart remains OUT with a right ankle contusion. He has been out since March 21 and it is unknown when he will return. 

Jarred Vanderbilt is QUESTIONABLE with right calf soreness. He played 12 minutes against the Thunder. In 60 games this season, he is averaging 4.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists. 

Dallas Mavericks Injury Report

Marvin Bagley III is PROBABLE with left shoulder impingement. He's been out since March 27, missing the last three games. Since being acquired at the deadline by the Mavericks, he's played in 18 games and is averaging 10.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. 

Tyler Smith is QUESTIONABLE with low back spasms. He played just six minutes against the Magic. In eight games this season, he's averaging 2.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 0.3 assists. 

Kyrie Irving is OUT after undergoing left knee surgery last season. He has not and will not play this season. 

Derrick Lively II is OUT after undergoing season-ending right foot surgery. 

Moussa Cisse is QUESTIONABLE on a G-League two-way deal. John Poulakidas is PROBABLE on a G-League two-way deal.
