LeBron James Reacts to Brooklyn Fans Cheering for Bronny cover image

Bronny James received a standing ovation from Brooklyn Nets fans on Tuesday.

LeBron James and his son Bronny James are in their second playing together as teammates on the Los Angeles Lakers and how special of a situation is not lost on either of them.

The fact that's even possible is a testament to the longevity of the elder James' career and while Bronny may only average just under seven minutes per game, the fact that he's competing at the NBA level at all after missing the majority of his college career is a testament to his resilience.

Each game that the father and son play together brings a new chapter of the unique experience that they're able to share and after the Lakers' win over the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday, Bronny was celebrated by Nets fans who were happy to witness history.

Love From Brooklyn

When Bronny checked in near the end of the game, the stands at Barclays Center roared with cheers for the younger James and it was a moment that LeBron took time to reflect on after the game and show appreciation for the Brooklyn faithful for not only the love they'd shown him over his career, but what they'd shown his son.

"I had my wife sitting court side and us being able to have that moment for our son is pretty cool," James said (via Spectrum SportsNet). "It's always been love and respect to Brooklyn fans every time I come here and for them to show that to my son, his development... it's a moment for me and my wife we will never forget."

Bronny's Progression

Bronny is averaging 1.9 points, 0.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game this season and he had four points on 2-3 shooting in Tuesday's game.

The 2025-26 season has been a big step for Bronny when it comes to his usage and experience at the NBA level. While he has played some time in the G-League with the South Bay Lakers, he's already tied the amount of games he's played at the NBA this season with his total from last.

With so much more of the season to go, James will surely have even more experience playing at the highest level and could even play in a deep playoff run based on the way Los Angeles has played this season.

Bronny is still unrealized potential in many ways and could continue to improve and as he does that this season LeBron will be in "dad mode" along the way whole his son develops.
