The Lakers defeated the Rockets, 100-92, on Monday in Houston. They have won six straight games, and are 9-1 in their last ten. The win streak has put them third in the Western Conference with a 43-25 record. They lead the Rockets, Denver Nuggets, and Minnesota Timberwolves by 1.5 games.
The Rockets dropped the last game to the Lakers as they continue to trade wins and losses during this recent stretch. They are 5-5 in their last ten, having neither won nor lost two straight games. At 41-26, they are fourth in the West, but have one less loss than the Nuggets and Timberwolves, putting them just ahead of both teams until the games even out.
This is the third and final meeting between the two teams. The season series is even at 1-1 following the Lakers' victory on Monday. The Rockets won the first meeting back on Christmas Day.
Los Angeles Lakers Injury Report
The Lakers are once again healthy coming into the game with only Maxi Kleber on the injury report.
Kleber is OUT with a lumbar back strain. He has been sidelined since March 8. There is no timetable as to when he might return. He's playing a career low 10.9 minutes per game, averaging 2.2 points and 1.9 rebounds.
The Lakers started Austin Reaves, Luka Doncic, Marcus Smart, LeBron James, and Deandre Ayton on Monday against the Rockets. Rui Hachimura, Luke Kennard, Jake LaRavia, and Jaxson Hayes all got minutes coming off the bench. Luka led the team in scoring with 36.
Houston Rockets Injury Report
The Rockets got good news as Alperen Sengun is off the injury report. He missed Monday's game. Clint Capela started in his place. This will be Sengun's first game since March 11.
Sengun is averaging 20.2 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 6.1 assists in 58 games this season. He had 14 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists against the Lakers on Christmas Day.
Jae'Sean Tate remains OUT with a right knee sprain. He's been sidelined since February 21. On February 23, it was reported that he would miss at least two weeks. There have been no further updates on his status.
Steven Adams is OUT after undergoing season-ending ankle surgery in January.
Fred VanVleet is OUT after undergoing season-ending ACL surgery in the offseason.
Tristen Newton is OUT on a G-League two-way deal.
