The Los Angeles Lakers look to close out their first round series against the Houston Rockets in game four on Sunday.
The Lakers pulled off an improbable victory in game three of the series, winning in overtime despite being down six with 30 seconds remaining and Houston having possession. A steal and three free throws by Marcus Smart, followed by another steal and a three by LeBron James, tied the game. In overtime, Smart outscored the Rockets by himself, and the Lakers were able to put the game away and give themselves a chance to sweep.
The Lakers lead the series 3-0. Game four begins at 9:30 PM ET in Houston.
Los Angeles Lakers Injury Report
Austin Reaves is QUESTIONABLE with a left oblique muscle strain. Reaves was listed a questionable going into game three, but ultimately did not play. He has been out since April 2, but it's a good sign that he's been upgraded to questionable in the last two games.
He averaged 23.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.5 assists in 51 games during the regular season.
If he plays, it is unknown if he will start or come off the bench, or if he'll be on a minutes restriction.
Luka Doncic is OUT with a left hamstring strain. He's also been sidelined since April 2. On April 21, it was reported that Doncic is not expected to return in round one against the Rockets. His status for round two, assuming the Lakers advance, is currently unknown.
He averaged 33.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 8.3 assists in 64 regular season games.
The Lakers were led by LeBron in game three as he finished with 29 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists. Smart had a big impact, contributing 21 points, four rebounds, ten assists, and five steals.
Rui Hachimura provided secondary scoring with 22 points.
Houston Rockets Injury Report
Kevin Durant is QUESTIONABLE with a left ankle sprain. Durant has been questionable in all four games this series, and has only played in game two. He played 41 minutes in game two, scoring 23 points and adding six rebounds and four assists, but also had nine turnovers. He missed games one and three.
Steven Adams is OUT after undergoing season-ending left ankle surgery in January.
Fred VanVleet is OUT after undergoing season-ending right ACL surgery in September.
Alperen Sengun led all scorers in game three with 33 points to go along with 16 rebounds and six assists. Jabari Smith Jr had 24 points and Amen Thompson had 26 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, three steals, and three blocks.
