The Orlando Magic's solid season could make them buyers at the trade deadline.
Bleacher Report named the top three trade assets for every NBA franchise. The first asset listed for Orlando is their 2032 first-round draft pick.
"Going close to all-in on Desmond Bane has boosted the Orlando Magic's urgency and the value of their only tradable first-rounder," the article wrote. "Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner are young enough to anchor an extended window, but they need to hit and sustain their highest-percentile outcomes. And then Orlando needs to keep bankrolling a supporting cast around them."
Along with their lone future first-round pick, there are two young Magic stars who were named among the likeliest trade assets. The first is 2023 first-round pick Anthony Black, who has impressed this season in his role as a spark plug off the bench.
"Black is getting promoted from the No. 3 slot in the last edition," the article added. "He will likely never be able to run an NBA offense full-time, but he moves well without the ball and has shot well from the corners for most of his career. His on-ball navigation and decision-making looks more fluid than ever, and the defense is main-attraction material — equal parts exhaustive, physical, disruptive and rangy."
Black is averaging 13 points, four rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 44.1 percent from the field and an underwhelming 29.8 percent from three-point range. His three-point percentage is a massive decline from his 39.4 percent during his rookie campaign. He could be a player Orlando deals for a bigger-name star but with Jalen Suggs' consistent injury concerns, Black is a more-than-serviceable depth piece for the rotation as is.
The final trade asset named is 2024 first-round pick Tristan Da Silva, who, like Black, has improved this season.
"Da Silva has quietly established himself as a rotation player on a team with deep-playoff aspirations," the article concluded. "A 6'8" wing, he holds his own defensively, doesn't let the ball stick and looks more comfortable this year getting off threes. Having another two years on his rookie scale is the cherry on top."
This season, Da Silva has improved in almost every statistical category. He is averaging 9.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 36.5 percent from three-point range. These numbers are not incredible by any means but they have shown Da Silva has taken a leap from his rookie season. At 24, he could be a valuable trade piece.
