Bane reveals how the Magic silenced Detroit's surge, highlighting resilience, clutch plays, and a roaring home crowd's impact on their crucial Game 3 victory.
On the team's ability to respond to Detroit's run:
"I thought it was huge. That's what the playoffs is about. Teams are going to make runs—they got great players on that side. But we was able to regain the momentum, make the plays when they mattered, and find a way to get a win and protect home court."
On tying the franchise record for three-pointers in a playoff game:
"It’s super cool. My first year here, so laying the foundation for hopefully a long, long time here in Orlando. Super cool. Hopefully we go break it before this postseason's over with."
On his health and cramping late in the game:
"I was tired. I was cramping my hamstring. But I’m fine. We got a good medical staff—they was able to get on top of it pretty quick. I could have went back in the game, but we had it secured."
On the atmosphere inside the Kia Center:
"They brought it tonight. I thought they were huge from the tip. Even during the shootaround when we were warming up, I was like, 'Oh, wow.' They’re coming with it. It was super dope to get my first real playoff game here in Orlando. I’m looking forward to Monday."
On the team’s composure and resilience:
"We talked about it; we had a good practice yesterday and a lot of guys was in there getting work in. I like our attitude, our resilience. I thought it was great. We responded in the right way, and we got to understand what's coming for us in Game 4. They're going to come out swinging just like they did in Game 2, up their physicality. We got to be able to exceed that."
On the maturity of the younger roster:
"I think we've come so far throughout this season. We've had moments where a run like that would derail us—we would go apart instead of come together. But that's the growth of this team. We've taken huge strides in that area and it's going to be important for us as we continue to move deeper in this postseason."
On envisioning playoff success when he was traded to Orlando:
"100%. I was talking with my family and just talking about how in the playoffs everything's about winning. It's not really about who's performing or who's doing x, y, and z. Just being ready for whatever the game presented—it was super fun to get a win here tonight."
On the leadership of Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner down the stretch:
"Shout out Paolo, shout out Franz. Those are our two stars right there and they played like it down the stretch. Guys that you can go to to make plays and hit big shots. It was great to see and I'm glad that I'm on their side."
On the physical intensity of the series:
"No doubt. I think we're both getting to know each other. That's probably like our sixth or seventh meeting over the course of this season. Like you said, two physical teams that pride themselves on the defensive end. It’s been an extremely fun series and we still got some more basketball to play."
On what the team needs to do moving forward:
"Keep leaning on each other. Keep diving into the game plan. Coach Mosley and the staff has done a great job as far as having us prepared for what Detroit could potentially throw at us. We're going to watch the film, see what we did well, see what we can clean up, and continue to get better. I like the type of basketball we're playing right now."
