Inside Paolo Banchero's Comments Following Buzzer Beater 112-110 Win Over Pacers cover image

Banchero reveals the exhilarating feeling of sinking the game-winner and discusses the team's resilience driving to the paint and battling through adversity.

On how good it felt to hit the game-winning shot going downhill:

"It's just a great feeling to get the win. Tough game, they weren't going away and we just had to battle it out and just play till the final buzzer."

On the team's ability to score 70 points in the paint on a night when the outside shot wasn't falling:

"I think that's just what we got to do. Obviously you want to make more threes, but some nights it goes that way. And I think we just did a good job of being relentless, getting in the paint and making plays, drawing fouls, finishing at the hoop. So yeah, I think that's something we got to continue to focus on."

On responding to the rebounding challenge:

"Yeah, doing a good job of keeping guys off the glass. And yeah, didn't want to give up second chance points and we did a good job."

On handling three technical fouls in a close game and staying poised:

"I didn't agree with a few of those technicals. But like you said, definitely just got to stay poised and after the first or second bad one, you can get another one. You got to realize how the refs are calling the game and just do a better job of not getting those, because close games like that can go the other way. So, some we got to work on. But I don't think it'll be too much of a problem for us."

On seeing Jalen Suggs back on the court:

"Great to see him back out there. Great to have him out there. Just his energy out there and he's just a huge part of the team. So when he's out there, I just think we're better."

On Desmond Bane fighting through back spasms:

"I didn't expect anything different. If he can run up and down, he's going to play. And yeah, I'm sure he wasn't feeling the best throughout the game, but he just battled through and made some big buckets and just was super solid on both sides of the ball. So, he's a warrior and he's been that way all season."

On continuing to find rhythm:

"Just going out there trying to just be aggressive and hunt shots and just play the game the right way. I think that's just the biggest thing and yeah, just going to continue to do that every night."
