On the group's ability to make enough plays in overtime to win despite not being as smooth as desired (Tristan da Silva):
"Yeah, I said it earlier. The resilience that this group has and just staying with the play, staying with making the right plays down the stretch, stepping up to the moment. Not being discouraged by what the opponent does or what has happened throughout the rest of the game earlier in the game. Especially with the situation with Ji going down in that third quarter, just to kind of come back and regroup ourselves and come back to a positive mindset is huge. For me personally, I've tried to think about what he would think and just being out there and playing hard for him. He would love to be out there, but he can't right now. So it hurts my heart, but I'm glad we got it done."
On what it took out of him on the second night of a back-to-back to help the team win, and the emotions tonight (Jalen Suggs):
"Yeah, I was really hoping we close it out in reg there. That's something we got to take back and go watch and figure out. Let's go 42 in that fourth. That's tough to go from 25 to 42 down the stretch to get them back in the game and force OT ain't good enough. But it's not no excuses at all. We came out and won and found a way. Five and seven nights is difficult thing to do another back-to-back this in a week. It's tough, especially given how hard of a game last night was. But I think it's very important in these games to recognize that we are not robots and that it's real. Fatigue is real physically and mentally, especially at the end of the year. It takes a lot to come out and play these games. On top of playing a young team who's going to get it, especially Trey played tonight, made them better. So yeah, for us it took a full group effort to get everybody being locked in down the stretch and taking all their punches cause they were throwing haymakers. They were knocking down shots. I think it showed great resilience just kind of staying with it, not getting too rattled because we to be honest with you, we could have gave them that game and we could have lost that a couple times. Stayed with it, hit big shots and kept it pushing."
On being nicked up from hard falls and how he's feeling physically after the last two days (Jalen Suggs):
"I'm ready to go home right now. I'm going to go get in some cold water and go home. That's how I'm feeling."
On the importance of details, rebounding, loose balls, and defensive positioning when dealing with fatigue on a back-to-back (Jalen Suggs):
"For sure. I think the biggest takeaway though is just daggering teams when they're down or keeping a foot on their neck. We had them down 20. I think it was going into the fourth. If not if I'm not mistaken into the fourth. We got to put teams away when we got them like that. That's just not good enough. Everything else aside, crash, rebound, get stops, keep guys out of middle, for sure. All that's a part of it. But we did our job getting up 20. We let it slip away. So I think that's the biggest takeaway is just not playing with the game. When you got a team down, don't give them no life. Because once you see a couple shots go in, it's so quick in this league to go on a run, you know what I'm saying? In under a minute if you're knocking down your shots, which they were."
On bouncing back against Miami on Saturday after this game (Tristan da Silva):
"Yeah, I mean I think this game today was kind of a reality check, too. You got to be locked in every single time you're on the court. I feel like today in stretches we didn't do a really good job of that. If you do that against a team that's got momentum and that feels good about themselves, it can cost you the game. One run cost you the game. We just got to come out and play our style of basketball. Make sure that we know what we're doing and then I feel like then we have a shot against any team in the league."
On his career-high performance tonight and the confidence from teammates (Tristan da Silva):
"Yeah, I feel good. Obviously it starts with my teammates, how much trust they put in me, how much confidence they instill in me, and allow me to hit shots, to make plays, to have the ball in my hands, and also being open for my communication on the court. I'm just trying to be out there and play the right way. I don't really care too much for the stats of it all. At the end of the day, I feel like we're playing a fun brand of basketball. A couple games ago against Milwaukee, I had five points and that was still like one of the funnest games that I've had. Just because we're playing the right way, we're doing the right things and we're playing for each other and I've been saying that all along. That's the most fun way to play for me personally. It wouldn't be possible without the guys around me."
