On Franz Wagner's importance to the team and his ongoing recovery:
"There aren't words that describe what Franz means to this team. His toughness, his resilience, his desire and want to get back on the court. Every person on this team knows his work ethic and his care factor for this group. There aren't many words that can describe it for this group, but also for him. I talked to him last night and his ability to want to just be on the floor, that's what is the hardest, but also understanding that he knows how capable this group is of achieving the things that we say we want to do even with him being out for this time."
On approaching the post-All-Star break West Coast trip starting with Sacramento:
"One game at a time. For Sacramento, it's just understanding what this building is and how they play and their freedom to play and how they attack the basket, getting downhill, one-on-one basketball, but they got guys that can really flat out score. We've got to make sure we're tying into our defense, understanding our game plan, and focusing on that side of the ball more than anything."
On how he wanted the team to respond coming out of the All-Star break and finishing strong:
"Just beginning a full reset. The ability to get away from the game for a while and understand how much you appreciate it, what you're able to get to do versus what you have to do. These guys came back with that joy and that focus today in practice. I thought it was an excellent practice from their line of focus and their understanding about being around each other again. That's the mindset we have to have. We've got to come in with a serious level of understanding game plan each and every single night, but we got to really understand how we can appreciate this game and have the joy for playing with one another."
On the keys to making a strong second-half push toward the postseason:
"Constantly putting in the work. Our everyday work ethic has got to be on point. Our defense has got to continue to take another step up to another level. It goes back to what Kendra just said, our ability to play for each other with each other with that sense of joy. But then there's got to be a toughness and a seriousness for every game. Our standard has to be set night in and night out. Every game's going to be different, but the way we play shouldn't adjust."
On how important it is for Franz Wagner to fully recover for the rest of the season and postseason:
"I think it's so important. His ability to do just that, get it all the way right where he's not trying to get in and out and then the soreness continues to get to him. Making sure it's right, it's the long haul for him. It's the long part of his career that we're looking at more than anything that we care about these guys and make sure they want to be fully physically able to play when they step on the court."
