Magic coach Jamahl Mosley emphasizes relentless aggression and resilience as the series heads home, vowing his team won't back down from Detroit's physicality.

Jamahl Mosley:

On what changed in the third quarter to allow Detroit to take control:

"They came out and added a level of aggression. That first play we ran they called an offensive foul on Dez, and then from there they started picking up some heat. They turned us over a couple times, we missed a few shots at the rim, and that momentum just changed the game."

On the struggle to stop Detroit’s run in the third quarter:

"I'll definitely have to go back and look at the film. I think we got a lot of great looks; shots didn't fall. I think we had three or four at the rim in that instance, and being able to finish stops them from getting out with momentum. Because we didn't finish, they were able to fuel their break. They had a couple blocks and a couple shots didn't go down, and that led to them getting out on the break."

On Detroit’s interior defense and the team’s response to the physicality:

"I think we responded well to the physicality. I really do. I think they were doing just as much grabbing and holding—physical plays at the rim. We said that was what it was going to be from the beginning of the series and we embraced that. They did a hell of a job at the rim trying to keep us out of there, and our ability to knock some shots down in that moment was key. You have to give them credit for how they responded to the last game."

On how much "self-inflicted mistakes" hindered offensive rhythm:

"That's part of the game. I think they did a heck of a job of reaching and grabbing and they turned us over a few times—they were timely turnovers. You have to give them credit for how they protected that paint and our ability to get downhill. It would be one thing if we weren't getting there, but we were getting downhill; now it becomes part of the decision-making once we do get into that paint because they do collapse it very well."

On shifting the series back to Orlando tied 1-1:

"It’s great to get back home in front of our fans—the best fans that we have. I think it's about our ability to come out with the right type of energy, focus, and physicality, understanding exactly how they're swinging and punching from the beginning of the game. We’ve got to make sure we keep our minds right, get our recovery, and come out with a game plan for the things they adjusted to tonight that we'll have to adjust to as well."

On the team's resilience and not backing down in the fourth quarter:

"We're not backing down. It's not who we are. Especially in a series like this and against an opponent like this, you're not backing down. They threw everything they had in that moment—the aggression, the physicality—and we knew that was coming. We embrace it. When we go to Orlando, we’ve just got to make sure we exceed it."

On the third-quarter struggles and whether halftime messaging needs to change:

"No, I don't think it was the fire. I think it was what Detroit did in that moment. They had been switching a lot of things up—the cross-matching, changing matchups. We had a lot of good looks and a lot of opportunities. They did a heck of a job of packing the paint all the way in and getting some blocks and deflections. We missed a few at the rim, which led to their break. They were able to get easy baskets while we were struggling to battle to get downhill to attack, and then when we did have the open looks, we didn't knock them down. That's the momentum swing."

On comparing the team's ball movement to Game 1:

"I think Detroit did a heck of a job of heating us up and speeding us up a little bit. We were getting downhill, but on the interior passes they had a couple hands on the basketball. I'll have to go back and look at the film and see exactly where those openings were."
