Magic Sign G League Standout Alex Morales to Two-Way Deal cover image

The Magic add G League scoring threat Alex Morales on a two-way deal. His impressive averages and hot start earn him an NBA opportunity.

Following the All-Star break, the Orlando Magic made a minor roster move, signing free agent forward Alex Morales to a two-way contract.

“The Orlando Magic have signed free agent forward Alex Morales to a two-way contract,” the recent press release wrote. “President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal are not disclosed.”

“Morales (6’6”, 195, 11/21/97) has played and started in 18 regular season games this season with Osceola of the NBA G League,” the press release added. “Averaging 19.2 ppg., 8.0 rpg., 3.2 apg. and 2.17 stlpg. in 35.6 minpg., while shooting .528 (130-246) from the floor, .413 (31-75) from three-point range and .833 (30-36) from the free throw line.”

Morales previously spent his entire career in the G League with the Osceola Magic, appearing in all 112 games. He is off to an extremely hot start this season, which earned him the new contract.

“Undrafted by an NBA franchise, Morales has appeared in 112 career NBA G League regular-season games (59 starts),” the press release stated. “All with Osceola (previously Lakeland), averaging 10.2 ppg., 6.1 rpg., 3.1 apg. and 1.58 stlpg. in 27.4 minpg., while shooting .514 (453-881) from the floor.”

“Morales appeared in 74 career games (71 starts) during three seasons at Wagner College (2019-22),” it added. “Averaging 15.9 ppg., 6.9 rpg., 3.7 apg. and 1.51 stlpg. in 33.1 minpg. He was named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Year in both 2020-21 and 2021-22, and the NEC Defensive Player of the Year in 2021-22. Morales also played one season (2018-19) at Prince George’s Community College in Maryland.”

With the addition of Morales, the Magic waived center Orlando Robinson, who signed a two-way contract this past offseason.

“In addition, Orlando has waived two-way player Orlando Robinson,” the press release wrote. “He appeared in four games (one start), averaging 1.8 ppg. and 1.0 rpg. in 6.2 minpg. Robinson was originally signed to a two-way contract on July 21, 2025.”
