The Magic host Cleveland and Miami this October as new head coach Sean Sweeney prioritizes developing the Banchero-Wagner duo over pursuing a blockbuster Giannis Antetokounmpo trade.
The Orlando Magic announced they will host two preseason games at Kia Center ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season, giving fans an early look at the team before the regular season begins.
Orlando will open its home preseason slate against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday, Oct. 13, before welcoming the Miami Heat on Friday, Oct. 16. Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m. ET at Kia Center.
Single-game tickets for the 2026 preseason are available now through the Magic. Fans can purchase tickets online through the team's official website or by calling 407-89-MAGIC.
The organization also announced that season tickets, partial plans, group packages and Kia Center suite rentals for the upcoming season are currently on sale.
The Magic are set to open training camp on Sept. 29 at the AdventHealth Training Center as they begin preparations for the first season under new head coach Sean Sweeney.
The remainder of Orlando's preseason schedule will be announced at a later date.
Why the Orlando Magic Very Likely Won't Trade For Giannis Antetokounmpo
As the NBA offseason rolls into the summer months, speculation and trade rumors naturally begin to intensify around teams looking to improve their rosters. The Orlando Magic are no exception, with the organization frequently linked to two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo in recent weeks.
After the Magic hired Sean Sweeney as the franchise's next head coach in May, rumors connecting Antetokounmpo to Orlando gained additional traction due to the relationship between the two dating back to their time together with the Milwaukee Bucks, where Sweeney served as an assistant coach.
However, according to one NBA insider, a blockbuster trade may be less likely than many fans believe, and one key factor could be Sweeney himself.
On a recent episode of Full Court Magic, host Don Strouble discussed why he believes the odds of a trade not happening may actually be greater than Orlando pulling off a deal for the "Greek Freak."
"I saw this report from Curt Helin, lead NBA writer and managing editor at NBCSports.com, and he had this to say about the Orlando Magic and incoming head coach Sean Sweeney as it relates to Giannis Antetokounmpo. He said, 'Orlando is interesting. A team on the rise in the East, but with questions about whether they have a true number one shot creator and bucket getter who can get them a ring. The Magic are expected to let new coach Sean Sweeney try to figure out the Banchero and Franz Wagner puzzle rather than blow it up for Antetokounmpo or anyone else,” Strouble said.
“League sources told NBC Sports. However, if they decide to get in the mix, they can put together an impressive offer.' I see this report about letting new coach Sean Sweeney try to figure out the Banchero and Franz Wagner puzzle rather than blow it up... that feels like a foregone conclusion. That feels like an obvious statement almost, especially with an understanding of who is running the show in Orlando from an executive standpoint. The Giannis thing right now just feels like rumors—offseason rumors. It doesn't feel like it has any substantial evidence behind it or any real traction."
