On the team's ability to withstand Cleveland's elite shot-makers and come away with the victory (Tristan da Silva):
"Yeah, obviously we would have liked to have a little more control on defense, a couple more stops. But kudos to them for making big shots, taking big shots."
On what he's learned about Desmond Bane as a teammate (Tristan da Silva):
"Yeah, I mean, he's about all the right things. Every time he says something or every time he's, you know, the things that he does and the things that he lays out there on the court speak for themselves. He's a guy that works constantly and thinks the game. A super smart player. Not afraid of big moments. So we need somebody like him. We need him to make those plays and be in that position for us."
On the significance of the win (Desmond Bane):
"I think it's great. Opponent is the opponent, a good team, but more than anything, I just like our process. We're in here talking about in the locker room, like, what do y'all feel like we're doing different? What's working? What's not working? And Tristan was saying it coming off the court like this is fun. Like we're playing a fun brand of basketball on both ends of the floor. A lot of guys are getting involved. A lot of guys are making the extra pass, making the hustle plays. Winning is fun. In this league, I've been on teams where I'm scoring a bunch of points, and we're losing. There's no fun in that. What we're doing right now is fun."
On the team's resilience through ups and downs and finding the process (Desmond Bane):
"Resilient. It's a young group. The season could have went any two ways. We were struggling to find our footing, to find consistency. We could have started pointing the fingers and playing the blame game, but during that All-Star break and kind of leading up to it, we got a chance to really look ourselves in the mirror, have honest conversations, and it's propelled us."
On the different energy and confidence in the group (Tristan da Silva):
"Honestly, I don't know if I can pinpoint a specific game or moment, but ever since the All-Star break, I feel like we've really found a way to gel together on the court. Play for each other, make the right reads because they're the right reads, not because somebody's standing there or not standing there. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter who's in the lineup and who's taking the shots or who's guarding. We all feel confident in each other and trust each other to make the right plays. That's the approach you got to have. That's that process that Dez is talking about. Not being too focused on the outcome of all things because something you can't control. Just keep chopping wood and doing the right things."
On Tristan da Silva going blow-for-blow with Keon Ellis (Desmond Bane):
"Honestly, I'd be forgetting that he's only in his second year. We were talking about it on the bench the other day and like he just plays with a poise and maturity, really knows the game. The type of player that he is are players that are vital come playoff time. When teams are trying to pressure me or send double teams to Paolo, you need somebody that can knock down shots, play off of closeouts, guard on the other end. He checks all those boxes. Not surprised with what he did tonight or what he's been doing. He's in the gym yesterday working full sweat. That's just who he is."
On the confidence developed since the All-Star break and not panicking in close moments (Desmond Bane):
"I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but we've been in a ton of close games this year. A lot of games that have been decided by a few possessions. Some have gone our way, some haven't. But I think you need those moments for nights like tonight and come postseason time, just about every game's going to be down to the wire, couple possessions. It's been good practice. I thought we executed pretty well. A couple defensive lapses. Give them credit though. James Harden and Donovan making tough off-the-dribble threes. Overall, I'm happy we got out of here with a win."
On preparation for clutch shot-making and consistency in big moments (Desmond Bane):
"I spend a lot of time in the gym. What I've been in the league six years, so I feel confident everywhere on the floor and in every opportunity. I'm thankful that the coaches have trust in me, my teammates have trust in me to make those plays down the stretch, but I'm extremely confident."
