Banchero's scoring surge and a clutch Suggs shot spark a vital win, reigniting the Magic's playoff hopes with nine games remaining.

The Orlando Magic defeated the Sacramento Kings 121-117 in a much-needed win after dropping six straight following a seven-game winning streak. It was not a perfect performance, but for Orlando, the result mattered most.

Paolo Banchero led the way with his third straight 30-point game, while Jalen Suggs knocked down a clutch go-ahead 3-pointer late and newly added Jamal Cain made several hustle plays that helped swing momentum. The win snapped Orlando’s six-game skid and kept the team in the thick of the Eastern Conference race with nine games remaining.

With the season entering its final stretch, coach Jamahl Mosley believes this could be the type of win that helps get his team moving in the right direction.

“I've said this before—you hear the quote,” Mosley said. “It's better to learn lessons in a win than in a loss. That's the thing that we're going to talk about tonight. We got the job done and it was not pretty at the end of the day and we know that, we saw it, we see what it is. But again, to get the win and find a way through it all, that's important right now for us.”

Mosley said Orlando’s effort level stood out, even if the execution was not always clean.

“I think the intent was definitely there for our guys,” Mosley said. “Wanting to do the little things. Again, a big portion of it was Sacramento came out, played hard, they hit some big shots. A couple assignments we missed, but again, the guys were aware of it. Other times we've been a step slow, not into the ball like we needed to be, but tonight I think our intent was there for that.”

For Cain, the biggest feeling afterward was relief.

“Super satisfying,” Cain said. “Knowing the struggles we just went through in these past games, in the NBA it's hard to win. So man, any way we can get a win, we need it. We want it. And it just feels good, man, to come out with a victory.”

Cain said the key now is sticking with the same mindset and trusting the process down the stretch.

“Just keep doing what we doing,” Cain said. “Man, I feel like our mind, our hearts are in the right place. Last couple games the ball haven't bounced our way. We've been in tight games with good teams, but if we stay consistent with our effort, where our heart is at, where our mind is at, it'll eventually flip.”

Banchero has taken command during this recent stretch, and after another 30-point outing, he emphasized the importance of building momentum quickly.

“Super important,” Banchero said. “We're in a tight race and put ourselves in a tough position losing six in a row. So we got to dig ourselves out of it. Don't want to be in the play-in, but that's where we're at right now. So got to find a way to get out of there and get some momentum going into the playoffs. We got nine games left to do that. We just got to be on our P's and Q's every night.”
