The Orlando Magic have a lot to look forward to in the upcoming season.
The Orlando Magic and their fans now know who they will be facing during the 2026-2027 NBA season.
Thursday served as schedule release day in the NBA, and after Orlando learned of its opponents in next season’s Emirates NBA Cup, the entire schedule is now fleshed out.
The Magic will open their season by hosting the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. This matchup is a change of pace after Orlando opened against the Miami Heat in each of the last two seasons.
Last season against the Hawks, the Magic were swept in four regular-season games. Orlando may have gotten the best of the Heat, but Atlanta had its number and looks to be a formidable opponent again.
On Friday, Oct. 23, the Magic will host the Minnesota Timberwolves before embarking on a three-game road trip in which they will face the defending champion New York Knicks and the Toronto Raptors twice (one of which is an NBA Cup game).
Last season against Minnesota, Orlando won both games. In four games against the Knicks, the Magic split the series, and in three games against the Raptors, Orlando lost, 2-1. The last time the Magic faced Toronto, they lost by 52 points, which was the worst margin of defeat in franchise history.
The month of November will be the most road-heavy for Orlando, as it will host five home games and travel for nine.
One game fans will be excited for in November is when the Magic host the Philadelphia 76ers on Nov. 18. This is because, barring an injury or other circumstance, LeBron James will be suiting up for the 76ers in his first season with his new team. It will be the first of three times Orlando will face the 76ers.
The month with the most home games for the Magic will be in January, where they will host nine games and be on the road for eight. January's 17 games will also be the most played in a month during the season.
According to Orlando Magic PR, Orlando will have 14 back-to-backs, which equals 28 games that will be played on consecutive days, six away-to-away games, four home-to-away games and four home-to-home games. Additionally, the Magic's longest homestand will encompass six games in 13 days from Feb. 25- March 9, and their longest road trip will encompass five games in nine days from March 10-18.
The schedule offers a lot for fans to be excited about, and single-game tickets are set to go on sale on Friday at 1 p.m. ET.
