After winning seven games in a row, the Orlando Magic have now lost their last three after falling to the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday.
Magic Guard Desmond Bane led the way for his team with 24 points on 8-15 shooting from the field and 3-5 from 3-point range. He also grabbed seven rebounds in the loss and hit all five of his free throw attempts.
After the game, Bane talked about multiple topics, including what went wrong in the first half, what it meant to see coach Jamahl Mosley fighting for the team after the latter was ejected, how tough it can be with the injuries the team has and how big the next two games are at home. His comments can be found below.
On What Changed in the First Half:
"I think that when you're playing a team like that, you give them an inch and they take a mile. You've got to be extremely locked in, disciplined on defense. They scored the ball in a variety of ways. I thought that they were able to get out and get some threes. Coby White got going. Offensively, we struggled to put the ball in the basket.
"We had some conversations about it. We think we just need to play more together. You see a team like that, a team like Atlanta that we just ended up playing, OKC. All those teams are sharing the ball, moving without the ball. It's generating good things for the entire team. I think we need to lean into that a little bit more."
On the Appreciation for Coach Mosley After His Ejection:
"Mose always goes to bat for us.I don't think that's ever a question on whether or not he's got our back. Definitely like the fire. It's on us to match that and display that on the court."
On How Taxing it Can be Without Multiple Starters on the Floor:
"That's what comes with an NBA season. You're not always going to have your guys. The best teams in the league find a way to still make it happen. We have to do that."
On How Big the Next Two Games at Home Are Going to be:
"It's big. There's no other way around it. It's a great challenge for us. The Lakers team is playing extremely well. We get them in our building. I'm sure it's going to be a good environment. I'm looking forward to the challenge."
